Board Games

Today I played board games with a group of friends and it was so much fun.  I am dreading next week with the many appointments that I have to attend but if I do things in between those appointments that are fun & productive, hopefully it won't be as bad.

I really believe that board games are an amazing thing. There is a game out there for everyone and there are so many more than the 'classics' such as monopoly, risk & uno. With board games you need all the people at the table. Its a chance to really get to know people face to face and just have a good time. I'm making it my mission to get more people involved because its something that I believe could help mental health issues too. It could give individuals the opportunity to come into contact with people, but there is no pressure to talk about yourself or your life. You can talk about the game. That may then help you feel more comfortable and you may make friends. Its certainly helping me.

Last night was great too. I played TFT with friends and sang along with them to a load of Mamma Mia songs. I've always been very self conscious and don't let anyone hear my real singing voice. I used to sing in pubs as a teenager but when I stopped, my singing seemed to worsen. However, I didn't care last night & it was a great feeling. I'm really starting to learn that if people love & care about you truly, they aren't going to judge you on all the things that you dislike about yourself. They want me to be ok and will do what they can to help with that. I need to stop worrying so much and just be myself. And for anyone who may read these, please do the same. Just do you! If people are truly your friend, they'll stay. And if not, you didn't need them in your life anyway. and its their loss. You are amazing! Don't forget that.
